Gifted and Talented (GT) is a service for which students can be referred to when parents or teachers think the student has an above-average skill in academics such as Math, Reading, Non-verbal (spacial reasoning), etc.
To refer a student, parents will need to click the link below to print, complete, and return the form. Forms need to be returned by September 15th at 4:00 PM.
Once students are referred, parents will need to complete a home survey (sent home on September 22 and returned on October 2) and students will have 2 weeks to complete the GT testing. The testing can be extensive and long so students will complete a few tests a day until they are finished. If students pass the first round of assessments, they will have another round of assessments that will help specify exactly what subject the student is Gifted in.
After testing a committee will meet to discuss testing results and data compiled to determine if the student meets qualifications for GT testing. Parents will be informed of the results by October 30th.If you have any questions you can contact your child's teacher or the counselor, Ed Portis, at 979-209-1260 or email@example.com.
